Borneo Tree Climbing and Wild Orangutan tour
Come join the Tree Monkey Project and Orangutan Project this April 17-26 as we search for Wild Orangutans and climb tall trees of the Bornean jungle forest.
This a 9 day tour which includes 5 days of staying with the local Iban community in the Batang Ai national forest in Sarawak Malaysia outside of the city of Kuching.
We will take daily treks into the forest to search for wild orangutans and see what pristine primary (uncut) jungle forests looks like.
This will also include an incredible experience of tree climbing in these ancient forests Canopies! Trained guides will provide the gear and show you the techniques to ascend the ropes safely into the tree canopy, to spend time in a timeless environment. You will be able to actually see the forest from the orangutans' view!
Then we will spend 2 days visiting Matang and Semenggoh wildlife rescue centers located outside of Kuching, Malaysia.
The first and last nights stay will be at the wonderful Basaga Holiday Residences to transition into the jungle and relax and refresh after the tour.
Cost for this tour is $1450 and includes food, lodging and ground transportation to and from airport.
Airfare not included.
Proceeds from this trip will help cover the costs of training the Orangutan Project and other animal rescue non-profits staff to learn tree climbing techniques to help rescue, rehabilitate and research of endangered animals of Borneo.
